Proteus Digital Health is Combining Therapy with Analytics

Proteus Digital Health, Inc. is developing and commercializing a new category of therapy called Digital Medicines. Health services associated with Digital Medicine therapy include medicines that communicate when they’ve been taken, wearable sensors that capture physiologic response, applications that support patient self-care and physician decision making, and data analytics to serve the needs of doctors and health systems. The goal of Digital Medicine is to empower patients and their families, enable physicians and health systems to more effectively manage risk and ensure that outcomes are reliably achieved.

Stratos worked with Proteus on end-to-end firmware development for multiple generations of the product line, allowing Proteus to meet aggressive schedules and achieve cross-market deployment worldwide. In addition to embedded systems development, Stratos worked with Proteus in early generations of the product on industrial design, human factors support, miniaturization and wearable adhesives. These initial efforts led to a more advanced iteration of the product that involved Android development and integration, Bluetooth communications and an innovative software architecture that partitions the ISO 13485-compliant design-controlled software from the user-facing application, allowing cost-effective iteration of the application and user interface without sacrificing quality or reliability.
