Stratos Product Development President Judges Washington Technology Industry Association 15th Annual Industry Achievement Awards
Now in its 23rd year of providing innovation and design expertise to businesses in our state and beyond, Stratos Product Development is participating in the Washington technology scene in a new way. Stratos President Sean MacLeod was selected as a judge for the Washington Technology Industry Association’s (WTIA) Innovative Manufactured Product of the Year to be awarded at the 15th Annual Industry Achievement Awards ceremony on March 4, 2010.
Stratos’s involvement with the WTIA came as a result of the 2009 merger between WTIA and TechAmerica (AeA), of which MacLeod was an active board member. The Innovative Manufactured Product of the Year was a new category added to the Industry Achievement Awards to reflect the WTIA’s broadened scope as a technology association. With 18 years of experience as a business manager and engineer, MacLeod is an experienced technology development practitioner and was able to lend specific expertise to the newly-added category. As a judge, MacLeod conducted an individual review of all the applications submitted and collaborated in person with the other judges who came to a unanimous decision on the three finalists and ultimate winner. MacLeod also advised on how to shape the category.
Stratos will be a supporting sponsor of the award ceremony to take place on March 4, 2010 at the Showbox SODO in Seattle. The event celebrates and recognizes some of the best emerging and established companies in the Washington technology industry. The evening will feature a finalist company technology showcase and a variety of coffee, chocolate, and wine samples from local companies. More than 800 attendees are expected.
“Stratos Product Development is pleased to take part in the celebration of the ever-evolving landscape of technology in Washington State,” MacLeod said. “It’s exciting to join forces with a forward-thinking and collaborative organization that fosters continual learning for our industry and acts as a catalyst for growth of the technology community.”
