Handled I2C chassis identification number and seven-segment display by a low-cost microcontroller in the effort of cost and size reduction. Ensured proper cooling of system with firmware that sensed fan speeds and alerted users with a system fault light when fan speed decreased below limit.
Simplified and improved the user interface by replacing standard DIP (dual inline package) switches with two push buttons and a three-digit, seven-segment display mounted on the front panel adding flexibility and functionality for less cost.
