Created software to control the motors, extract vital information from sensors in a harsh and changing environment, and analyze and manipulate that data.

Implemented software that linked status lights, video displays, and switches so they functioned as a system.

Created software that not only distinguished fins from water droplets, but also quickly and accurately located the fins and directed the machinery to remove the fin without collateral damage to the fish. Threaded the mechanical and electrical systems together to make the project successful with careful and creative software design.

Allowed hundreds of millions of fish to be tagged and marked, instead of tens of thousands. Gave state fish managers the ability to safely and efficiently mark all hatchery fish so fishermen can fish selectively.
