Designed a custom microprocessor-based controller board, with the power and resources to perform image processing on data from the vision system while controlling operation of the electromechanical system. Researched and tested various sensor implementations to maximize reliability in a difficult optical environment. Designed sensor signal conditioning and motor and actuator drive electronics. Integrated the machine vision system to guide the clipping mechanism. Power conditioning systems were incorporated for operation with varying quality power sources.
