Packaged and integrated a slot-load DVD player, touch screen LCD, two speaker assemblies, controller boards and power supply to conform to a limiting and complex form factor.
Provided a versatile architecture for ease-of-assembly and -service. Designed a sturdy, compact housing made from die-cast zinc. Developed an articulated mechanism for the display assembly that can pivot 170 degrees about the center and tilt 30 degrees backwards and 10 degrees forward.
Validated the mechanism through life cycle testing. Prototyped parts to validate part design and finishes. Designed all parts for manufacturing and provided detailed drawings of parts and engineering assemblies.
