Designed a system architecture from print head and printer science specifications developed by the client. Designed a paper-pick mechanism that loads media from three separate trays and coupled it with an output diverter that directs prints to any of three trays.
Gave the machine a strong, stable and accurate support structure by building the chassis from cast aluminum rather than plastic. This eliminated the need for additional support parts that usually accompany plastic designs, allowing the machine to be smaller.
Continuous testing and careful integration of Stratos systems with those of the client along with management of overseas tooling reduced part count, decreased system complexity and simplified the manufacturing process.
