A joint venture between the Washington Research Foundation and Stratos, the team initially met while investigating biotechnology opportunities.

For this venture, Stratos has provided product planning, management experience, marketing support, laboratories and facilities as well as seed and additional rounds of financing for the formation and development of the company.

Stratos also provides an ongoing range of technical expertise including intellectual property development and engineering support for ImageStream™, next-generation instrumentation platform, reagents, software and services for high-throughput imaging and analysis of cells to advance research in drug discovery, basic biomedical research and clinical diagnostics.

Amnis, achieved first-round funding for $1.7 million in March 2000 and second-round funding for $8.75 million in December 2001.
